Linn Maxwell Keller, wife of Fred Keller our founder and chair, lived a life devoted to the arts; singer, actress, master teacher and pure musician. She found music to be the instrument of her life-long vocation.

Fred Keller and his three daughters Lorissa, Susan and Christina wanted to honor Linn in such a way that would inspire aspiring singers and give them an opportunity to visit other cities or countries for the purpose of furthering their career potential. To celebrate and share Linn’s love of music the Keller family has bequeathed the following to support future performing artists and the love of music:

  • Bach Festival Scholarship – The Grand Rapids Symphony
  • Grand Valley State University – Scholarship for Aspiring Singers
  • Grand Valley State University – Donated Linn’s Performance Wardrobe
  • Grand Valley State University – Donated Linn’s Music Library
  • GR Community College – Linn Maxwell Keller Recital Hall
  • Aquinas College – Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Chapel  - Allen Bravura organ

Grand Valley State University, in honor of Linn, opened the Linn Maxwell Keller Black Box Theatre.

At the opening celebration for the GVSU – Linn Maxwell Keller Black Box Theatre, Fred reminisced about 3 things Linn always said:

  • Do your very best
  • Don’t conform to this world
  • Be inspiring

These endowments will support Linn’s legacy by providing resources to inspire future performing artists.
